Dear Riders,

I cannot believe that we are already at our last race..where has the
time gone? In any case, the schedule for tomorrow's racing is posted
http://www.northbrookvelodrome.org/schedule As you can see the night
is full of activities and less not forget about the FREE BBQ.

The women will be hitting it hard in the 30 lap Scratch IL/Elite
Qualifier. They are number of hungry women out there who have their
hopes in making it to the national contest. Come out and see how fast
can they go? This race will be peppered with primes so we are hoping
that no one rider will be able to get away.

CYCLING MADE REAL AND FUJI FRAME PARTICIPATION PROGRAM

The frame has arrived and it is a beaty. The winner will be announced
in the next few days. We need to tabulate two more races and we will
have the winner. I will hint that one woman is just racing away with
it.

TRACK STAND CONTEST

The annual track stand competition is back and I have been told that I
may need show off my track standing skills; but don't laugh too hard
as those who know me know me are aware that I cannot stand still
(smiles).

ANNUAL BANQUET

To bring back the nostalgia of racing we will gather for he annual
family style dining and issuing awards on Sunday, September 24. You
may purchase your tickets at

In the world of cycling we appreciate small production, highly
crafted, equipment made from the highest quality material. The wine
world is very similar in it's appreciation of small production wines
made with great care from grapes of the highest quality from the best
vineyards. Included in this selection of Fife Vineyards wines are some
older vintages that will help those without a cellar for aging try
some wine that has mellowed with some time, some younger vintages of
Zinfandel from Mendocino and Napa that will show how different growing
regions and vine age can significantly impact a specific grape, a
bottle of our flagship wine, "Max" which I contend can make a
vegetarian crave meat, and a bottle of Petite Syrah Port which we only
sell at our Mendocino Winery, not even over the internet. The combined
value of these 6 bottles not including your travel expense to get to
our winery or the years of patience waiting for our 1999 Merlot to
mellow into Bordeaux elegance is in excess of $150.00. The evening you
will have sharing those with your friends will be priceless.

See you at the track...
