Dear Riders,

It seems signs of spring have begun.

Did you attend the Chicago Bike Show?  If not you missed seeing Coach
Francine Haas teach attendees to change a tire faster than a NASCAR
pit crew (smiles).  They were other velodrome riders distributing  
informational flyers but we will protect the innocent.

This is to inform you that due to USAC regulations we had to make a
few changes to our schedule.  Of particular interest is that the
Elaine Nekritz Trophy Race/Scratch Championship race will now be held
on Thursday, August 23.  The championship event has a total purse of  
$1,000 and is sponsored by Alberto's of Highland Park.

The season opener is planned for Thursday, May 17 and is presented by
the Northbrook Park District.
