KENOSHA MAYOR'S CUP RACE SCHEDULED CHANGE
Kenosha, WI - The Mayor's Cup Points Race, the first of three premier
races throughout the summer Kenosha track racing season, has been
rescheduled to Tuesday, July 10th. It was originally scheduled for
next week July 3rd. However, due to its proximity to the July 4th
Holiday, the Kenosha Velodrome Association has elected to swap the
schedules for the next two weeks. Instead, the schedule for 10 July,
which includes the Danish and Miss-n-Out, will run next week.
The Mayor's Cup is a 75-lap points race, an event that tests both
stamina and speed as riders earn points every 5th lap. It is
supported by the Kenosha Mayor's office and features a traveling
trophy engraved with names of all the past top finishers. Former
winners include Rick Dregne, Robbie Ventura, Jonas Carney, and Jeff
Senn.
Other premier Tuesday night races are the Bob Pfarr Classic on July
17th (a brutal 150-lap points race that coincides with Superweek and
always draws several out-of-town Pros) and the Kenosha News Trophy on
July 31st (a junior-only points race also featuring a traveling
trophy).
There's lots of fast, racing action left this summer at the Kenosha
bowl, including several Keiren and Madison events. Come on down and
check it out-racing runs 7-10pm every Tuesday Night until the end of
August. Admission is free! Contact Nick Holbus at
manager at teambeansandbarley.com for more information.
Be sure to contact each individual velodrome for information on their
events. We have got together to promote the various events in an
effort to ensure that you do not miss out on the fun.
Sincerely yours,
