Hello riders,

The Opening Night of USAC Racing at Northbrook Velodrome is only two days away,
May 15th.  Looking forward to seeing every at the track for the start of a great
season.  A few quick reminders:

- Registration for Season Passes and individual Thursday night USAC racing is
available through sportsbaseonline.  Links to all of the above are available

- Bring your friends, family, and enemies out to the track to watch the racing
this year.  You can print out a two for one coupon from the home page of the
Northbrook Website.

- We are still looking for people to volunteer to mentor newer riders on
Thursday night.  If you would be willing to help guide a younger rider, please
send an email to Kristin Arntzen (lohn0005 at hotmail.com).

- The Wilmette Community Band will be playing at the velodrome on June 12th. 
Get your requests in now!  Send an email to comm at northbrookvelodrome.org and
we'll see if the band can play your song.

- Thursday night weather cancellation.  This is always a touchy subject. So to
try and address this issue, this year we are going to try and provide better
communication to riders and fans.  We'll be sending an email to the general,
women, and junior list if racing is cancelled for the evening.  Additionally if
you provide your cell phone number, we will send you a text message letting you
know that racing is cancelled. (Please note that messages will only be sent in
the event of cancellation.)  If you would like to be included on the list,
please send an email to comm at northbrookvelodrome.org with you cell phone
number.
